Yikes!

In my last blog I mentioned Brandon and I went to Cracker Barrel with Mason for Easter and I forgot to share my story about what happened there. You know the restaurants where they literally sit you RIGHT next to someone else? We had one of those situations and there was a mom sitting by us with her two teenage sons. I noticed how quiet they all were and glanced over to see how the heck that would be possible with two teenagers. Both sons were playing on their phones and wouldn't even make eye contact with their mom when she was speaking to them. At one point she said "what do you guys want to eat?" and one boy muttered "in a minute I'm watching a video." The mom then glanced over at Mason and said "wow, seems like yesterday my boys were that age." I feel like my heart sank watching this poor mom try to have conversation with her kids and them COMPLETELY ignoring her. It seriously was one of the most eye opening things I have had happen to me in awhile. Brandon and I left the restaurant scared of the social media world Mason is going to enter. I am determined to not let Mason get too wrapped up in that world and hopefully find some good old fashioned fun for our family. Has anyone else seen this craziness go on? Yikes!!!
