Hi everyone! I hope you had a great Christmas and enjoyed time with your families :) I have been terrible at updating my blog...whoops! I have lots of pics I want to put up but I will post them later tonight. Bran and I had Christmas in AZ and all I could think about was how different our lives were going to change next Christmas. We are also pumped to spend Christmas with our families next year in Michigan. Unfortunately, Brandon's busy season is Christmas so him working Christmas eve makes it tough to come home. Since blogging we have bought a new car! We got a chevy equinox in white and I'm in love with it! I love having bluetooth, xm radio, and tons of fun gadgets and a smooth ride :) It's definitely a "mom" vehicle. We also had a squid appt. last night which was a lot of fun. It was my 10-11 week appt. where they told me they would be going over questions and assigning me a doctor. I didn't think we would do an ultra sound but after talking the Physicians asst. said "lets look at that cute little gummy bear" she put the ultra sound on my belly and he was very still. She told me that they are so cute moving at this stage so she pushed on my belly a bit and woke him/her up! He ended up moving around and waving his hands and arms around. It was so precious I just squealed! My symptoms have been kinda terrible this week....I was feeling dizzy so Bran and I went to Olive Garden for some lunch. Usually food does the trick but on the way home I felt the urge to puke :( Sure enough I did and I was so sad! Hopefully the feeling of nausea goes away soon and I can feel like myself again. Brandon and I both have the week off so we have alot of house projects planned. We went to Ikea yesterday to get some organization furniture items to try to make squids room usable. He already has clothes and furniture even though he's a couple inches long! Look for more pictures to come this week...tootles!

Size and growth of our baby: Baby is now the size of a PRUNE!
Our baby has now completed the most critical portion of its development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in its body rapidly grow and mature.
It's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop through the the rest of my pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside my womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Our baby's limbs can bend now. Its hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over its heart, and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of its body. The outline of baby's spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Our baby's forehead temporarily bulges with its developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of its body. From crown to rump, baby's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.
