32 weeks!

Hey family and friends! I can't believe it but it's finally summer break and I am so excited to start preparing for this little baby! The majority of my friends and family are vacationing over the break but I am completely happy just staying home and finally getting some things accomplished. The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy which is why I haven't posted in awhile. My mom came out last week and it was nice to take her to some of her favorite spots! We went to dinner at a place called Hurricane Grill and my mom loves the music and outdoor spring heat. It was a fun time. Here are some pics from that night...bran was the photographer apparently this time around!

Mother and I
The girl in the top picture(Danielle), my mom, and my friend Susan set up a little shower in Arizona for me with my close teaching friends! It was so nice being able to celebrate baby Sev with all these ladies! I feel like I spend most of my life at work so spending time with work friends and having their support means so much to me! Here are a couple pics from the shower! It was also so nice having my close friend Vicki here from Boston!! So happy she flew out for the festivities :) So happy my mom flew out too...I'm a lucky girl!
Teacher's everywhere!

Admiring the present Vicki got baby Sev!

I had a doctor appointment on Friday and everything is going smoothly with the pregnancy. I was measuring a little small this time around but my blood pressure and everything is great! I can't believe how much weight I've gained with this pregnancy! Sometimes I look in the mirror and laugh at my new body.....it's completely different now than it was before! I wonder if things will go back to normal after baby or not?

Yesterday and today were my first days off work and I was actually a little productive. I washed all the babies newborn and 0-3 month clothes and organized his room a little bit. Brandon laughs at me because some nights I just sit in there and play :) There's something so peaceful about being in his little nursery! Brandon also helped me put up the window sham and curtains today which made me so excited. I feel like things are finally coming together. I also started sewing again today for the first time in forever. I'll post some pictures of my little projects later this week. Here is a picture of the nursery for those of you who haven't seen the stripes Bran painted or the colors! I'd say it's about 50% done now..still lots more work to do!
Cutest laundry I've ever done

Little Man's room
As a finale to the blog tonight I will leave you a funny picture of Rocco (He looks asian!) and a funny but sad picture of me. Walking into the video store today the guy at the register says to me "You're still pregnant? Isn't it summer? seems like you've been pregnant forever" I just glared at him and said "yeah I know" lol....I guess this is the final stretch and I should appreciate my large thighs, belly, his feet in my ribs, but I am getting pretty excited for this little guys arrival. Have a great week everyone!
"I am Siamese if you please"
Holy cow I'm going to be huge in 8 weeks!

31 weeks and baby showers in Michigan!

Hey everyone! So my last blog I only had room for just Friday's festivities...and you'll see why! so now I'm going to post all the fun I had on Saturday and Sunday! Saturday my mom and sister threw me a baby shower with family and close friends. We ate at a Mongolian BBQ and played some fun games! It was nice seeing my family after 11 months of not seeing them. I definitely hope we never go that long without seeing each other ever again! Thank you for the great day ladies...I had so much fun and miss you all already!
Love you mom!

 Thanks mom and Mandi! :)

Saturday evening my mom and I met up with Renee and Brittany and we went up to Cheboygen! Renee has a beautiful house on the lake and it was so peaceful being there! The next morning we headed up to Escanaba to meet up with the Severinsen's and Jaegers. Brittany and Renee did a great job decorating the baby shower! They had so many cute little decorations everywhere. It was so nice to see so many boy items around the room...he is definitely loved by all families :) Here are some pics from the shower! It was a great time with super yummy food!

The two planners! great job ladies and Thanks so much for the special day!! :) Can't wait to see ya this summer :)

Thank you both!

We played "who had the bigger belly"...this is a close call ;)
cute decorations! I wish I was creative with paper! Thank you everyone you all made it such a great trip home!

As far as the pregnancy everything is going pretty smoothly! The baby is moving around quite a bit and seems to enjoy living on my far far far far right side! Sometimes he's so far right I'm worried about him! lol. Here is an updated pic of what  I'm looking like these days.

8-9 more weeks to go!! :)

30 weeks...eek I'm late!

Sorry I am so late on my post...ahh! I was having so much fun in Michigan I didn't even have time to post any updates on what is going on. I feel like I don't even know where to begin! This weekend I am going to post all the pictures of my Michigan trip on my blog but for now I will just share some of the maternity photos I received and a sneak peek at my Michigan trip!

Last weekend was so much fun! I flew out Friday morning and had my friend Stephanie pick me up. She and I met up with my friend Molly who is 36 weeks pregnant with twins! I was so excited to see her and her growing belly. It has been nice having someone who isn't that much farther along than me to ask questions to...she has been such a big help! After lunch my grandma Hauenstein picked me up and she took me to see my great grandpa Hauenstein who just turned 100!! That's right...100 years old. I can't believe he is 100 and still doing so amazing. He works, goes to parties, remembers everyones names, it's amazing! I hope I have some of those amazing genes when I get older.

After seeing my papa, my grandma took me to see my dad as well. He was busy working but I was so happy to see him. After that, my friend Stephanie met me at my grandma's and she and I rode up to my moms. It only took us 2 GPS systems and a ride through Amish town to get there! I don't think I've ever seen to many Amish people in my life. I was going to take some pictures but that felt a little strange. Stephanie and I had dinner with my mom, sister, step dad and family friends. It was so nice to be in the cute small town of Beaverton again and see my amazing family! I could probably write for another 3 hours....so I am going to just post a few pictures from my first day in Michigan and continue the rest later. Here are some more maternity pictures too...enjoy!

For some reason this is my favorite one...I think it captures AZ's cute lil railroad and desertness :)
I took 156 photos over the weekend...holy cats! Here is just Friday nights photos. I will post my amazing time with the Sevs, Howies, Gloers, Jaegers, and Marshalls this weekend :) Too much to share all in one day!

My friends are so cute...I miss them so much!
I think the babies like the owl I made for them!! :)
Terrible picture of me but so happy I got to see him after all these years
Pure Michigan.......I miss water!

Last Saturday and Sunday pictures to come this weekend!! :) Oh! and baby name update....Mason made the #2 spot and Brandon and I have been discussing some new names...I'll update you on that this weekend too :)

29 weeks!

Todays Date: Sunday, May 6, 2012

How far along: 29 weeks and 2 days

Maternity Clothes: I am still wearing about half of my things maternity and half not maternity. I have found some super cute dresses that are not maternity and feel great :)

Sleep: Still dealing with the insomnia stuff! I wake up between 3-5am everyday. I think a lot of it is anxiety right now with work and feeling the baby kicking me.

Best moment of the week: Finding out my friend Vicki and my mom are flying out to my baby shower!

Movement: He's an active little guy! I heard he's getting too cramped to move as much but I still get some hard jabs in the ribs and stomach. He seems to sleep for about half an hour then be up for half an hour playing around in there.

Food cravings: Still loving anything spicey! And I've been obsessed with crushed ice and fudgesicles...hehe :)

Symptoms: insomnia, headaches, back pain, boob pain, and belly button pain. Sorry if that is all TMI for you :)

Labor signs: Nope! I did have a scare on Monday though. A student of mine pushed another student while leaving the classroom and he went head first into my stomache. My stomach started cramping up so just to be safe we went to the doctors. They monitored me and I was having some slight contractions but nothing to start me into labor. I was there an hour and eventually my stomach stopped and I got to go home. I make sure the kids keep a good distance now...yikes.

What I miss: I don't miss wine much anymore! But I do miss sewing and being "bored". Sewing really hurts my back now!

Belly button: I feel like a turkey on Thanksgiving....I feel part of it poking out now and can see it through my clothes. ew!

What I’m looking forward to: So many things! Seeing family in a week and celebrating baby sev, 12 more days with the kids before summer break, real estate school, my friends throwing me a shower in a few weeks, Planning for baby Sev. So many exciting things all at once :)

Also! For those of you who didn't know my sister is expecting a baby this fall! (October). She is now 17 weeks along so baby Sev will have a cousin! We'll find out boy or girl in the next 2 weeks!

My friend Julie also did a maternity session for Brandon and I. She and I both went to GVSU, moved to AZ to teach, and now she's starting a photography business! She did a great job. I will get the CD later this week and post the pictures as soon as I can. Here is a sneak Peek!

29 weeks pregnant

You’re probably already getting a little preview of baby’s personality, the more your feel him move. You might get some playful kicks and jabs, and start to feel little hiccups, too! At 29 weeks, he’s not just moving a lot, he’s also plumping up. And as he continues to put pressure on your digestive system, you’re going to feel the effects: hemorrhoids, heartburn, pelvic pain and frequent urination are all common at this stage in the game. Week 29 is a good time to start finalizing stuff, like stocking the nursery with baby care essentials and checking out a few potential day cares. You’ll also want to start packing a few things you know you’ll want with you at the hospital at baby’s birth. Leave it by the door, so you can add stuff you think of along the way -- and so you can grab it at a moment’s notice.
Your baby's the size of an acorn squash!
Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, we weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but he's still got a ways to go -- can you believe he'll triple in weight before birth?

your baby at 29 weeks
  • He's getting a little cramped in there, since he's growing so fast. But you probably already realize that, since you're getting all those jabs and kicks.
  • He's growing white fat deposits under his skin, and his energy is surging because of it.
  • Feel a subtle twitch? It might be baby hiccupping.
