39.5 weeks...whoah!

I know I have been terrible at keeping up with the blog but I think my mind is so scattered right now that it's hard for me to get anything accomplished. I am so focused on baby that no matter what I do I can't seem to stop thinking about when he is going to come! At my 38 week appointment I was 2cm and 75% effaced. I thought baby Sev would make his arrival last weekend but I was very wrong! I actually feel like I had more labor pains last week than this week...maybe it's the calm before the storm? This week has also been a little nuts trying to study for my real estate exam and waiting for Mandi to get here. I feel so bad for her! She got a standby ticket through a friend and had to wait at the airport for 2 days with no luck of getting on a plane. She is going to try again tomorrow so keep your finger crossed she gets on!

I am 100% prepared for Mason now and the waiting game is a little harder than I thought it would be. I haven't been sleeping much at all because it feels like someone is lying on top of me each night suffocating me....not a good feeling! Cross your fingers he comes out soon. Hopefully my next post will be baby photos!

38.5 weeks

Hey friends and family! Hope you are all staying out of this crazy heat. I would have never thought that Arizona would have a more comfortable summer than Michigan..weird! Brandon and I spent our fourth of July inside playing games with friends because it rained here all day. It was the first time we have had rain since December. It was definitely a nice change. Brandon played some basketball in the pool with his friends and then later we went and watched the fireworks and grilled out. It was a nice and relaxing day.

I had a doctor appointment last week and found out I'm dilated 2cm and 50% thinned out. This does not mean I am going into labor anytime soon but it does mean I'll have less work to do once labor
rolls around! Last night was
pretty rough for me. I woke up around 3a.m. with really really bad back pains. I've gone through kidney stones and 2 bad disks so I was trying to figure out whether it was contractions, my disk, possibly a stone, or just the baby putting pressure on me. I ended up taking two baths this morning and felt strong aches until about noon today. I feel like he is getting ready to make his debut soon because my body feels so different the past few days! I even noticed my appetite has changed. I was shocked to see I lost 5 lbs this week too...something strange is going on! Hopefully I can get some rest tonight :(

Not working or having class has made me go a little stir crazy already this week! It was funny trying to study for my real estate exam today because the baby kept kicking my test booklet so much that I was having trouble focusing! haha..I'm sure it'll be even harder to focus once he's actually out. I am getting sooooo excited for him to come out. It's weird how last week I was happy with him coming on his due date and now I want him out asap!

Brandon and I are officially finished with his room! And as you may have noticed we have stuck with the name Mason Dale Severinsen! I love it so much and think the name is going to fit him perfectly. Here is the final room pictures! Hopefully my next pictures will be of baby Sev! Have a great week and cross your fingers for me that he comes soon...I can't sleep or focus these days!

Come out baby Mason we can't wait to meet you!!

Good will find before....
Good will find after! I love spray paint :) Makes everything pretty again!

Some pool fun in the desert :)

37.5 weeks

Hey everyone! I hope all is well with everyone who is reading this...still not really sure if anyone reads my blog or not haha. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself but that's ok! I am in the final home stretch of this pregnancy and I seriously can't believe it. I have gotten a lot accomplished in June so far. I finished my 90hrs of course work for real estate school, finished the baby room (except decorations), and re-organized the entire house. It feels really good to get that all out of the way! Now my time will be focused on studying for my two exams to get licensed, getting lots of rest, and waiting for little man to arrive!

I had a baby appointment last week and it was pretty much the same news as last time. I am not dilated but thinning more which is good. I have an appointment in two days to find out more. I have a feeling I made a lot more progress this time around. Last night I had really bad pains and pressure and braxton hicks from 7pm-12am...I was actually nervous to fall asleep because I didn't know if it was labor pains or just practice ones. I can see now why women go to the hospital a million times before birth, I've had so many weird pains the last 2 weeks! Luckily they're just practice contractions but still a bit painful none the less! The doctor told me the more aches and pains I'm feeling now the less I'll feel during child birth so I guess that's good news.

Brandon has been really supportive and great throughout this whole pregnancy. I am a very lucky girl to have him in my life. Last night I laughed as he was googling up pregnancy words he didn't know. He came across a very disturbing video and I think it almost sent him into shock. He's nervous about becoming a dad but I know he's going to be so amazing at it and I can't wait to see him as one!

I also found out that my sister is coming here July 18th. She is so calm and caring that I know she will be a great support if I go into labor while she's here. I think I'm going to need all the relaxation I can get and Mandi and Bran will be perfect at helping me through that!

I will try my best and update my blog this weekend to post my Doctor visit and pictures from the 4th of July. I don't think we're doing anything too exciting since we're getting rain that day for the first time in 6 months! go figure huh? lol. Love you guys!

Here are some more updated pics of the room...sorry if they are getting old I just love before and afters! ha..now I just need wall art and it's complete!

Here is an owl that I never sold on etsy!! It matches nice but I may make another one :)

"Hey mom...why are you spending so much time in this room?"

Hand painted gift made by his aunt Brittany :)He'll love staring at it!

Almost done :)

36 weeks!

I can't believe I'm in the final month of my pregnancy. Some days I feel like it has flown by and other times it feels like time is inching by! The last two weeks have been a little crazy because I decided to squeeze my six week real estate class into 4 weeks which made me SUPER busy! I will be finishing up class this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday then attending a couple of review sessions. After that I'm going to study my butt off and hopefully pass with my license before baby! A lady in class already offered me a position if I want to take it in the fall selling homes in a retired community right next to my neighborhood. I'm not sure what I am going to do with my license yet but it's nice to know there's opportunities out there to make money.

I am getting so ready for this little guy to make his arrival! I had a doctor appointment last week (and for every week here on out) and he said that I am not dilated but my cervix is thinning.  I have been feeling a lot of pressure and some sharp shooting pains still which he said are all normal and will help me progress during labor stages so that's all good news! I'm a little  nervous because my doctor is on vacation for 2 weeks...hang inside a little longer baby Sev!

Brandon and I have been doing some projects for the baby's nursery this week. We still aren't completely finished with the room but we're making progress! Here are a few of the projects we did over the weekend. I also covered my first cushion...it was easier than I thought!

My friend Stephanie is super talented and made me some cute designs for the room too! I'm so excited to get them printed and use them as wall art. Thanks again Stephy! I also have to finish the rocking chair and make him some owls of course.

Today I got to spend some time with my friend Stacie. She asked me to take pictures of her with her dog so we went to a cute little park by my house:
She has the cutest and sweetest pup ever! Glad I could take a picture of them for her parents wall! :) We finished the day with laying out by the pool, jimmy johns, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and a pedicure! It was a great day!

Bran took a picture of my belly at 36 weeks last Friday and I must say I'm feeling enormous. I've gained 35lbs and the scale keeps going up each day! I don't really feel sad about it..more of a Holy crap feeling...lol. I hope you all have a great week!
My face pretty much tells you how I'm feeling these days...nervous and excited!

35 weeks....getting so close!

Today’s Date: Monday, June 18th, 2012. This would have been my grandpa’s 78th birthday today…Miss you everyday gramps!

How far along: 35 weeks and 3 days! Eek I’m late on posting..sorry!

Maternity Clothes: I LOVE not having to wear work clothes right now! I basically live in stretchy pants, dresses, and even let my belly hang in non maternity shirts! lol

Sleep: Last week my sleep wasn’t so great but the past few nights I’ve been so tired I just pass right out! I have been sleeping with a body pillow between my legs which has really helped. I also don’t even wear bed sheets or a comforter which is so weird for me not to do!!

Best moments of the week: My week consisted of class, more class, studying, and cleaning…but oddly enough my favorite part of the week was class…It feels good to be learning about something I’m excited about again J Hopefully it will bring us opportunities in the future! It was also nice having dinner and seeing a movie with my old roomie! J

Movement: He’s a wiggle worm. I think he’s getting squished in there though L Poor lil guy.

Food cravings: I’m still dealing with the weird ice craving and anything with chocolate J

Morning Sickness: No but I wake up with terrible headaches lately…ahh!

Symptoms: I could probably write in here for days J lol. Back aches, stretching pains in my belly, headaches, fatigue, pelvic pain (new symptom and not pleasant) heartburn is now coming on too!

Labor signs: I have been having some shooting pains in my “woman area” (sorry trying to not gross everyone out) so I think maybe some Braxton hicks coming on in that area.

Belly button: It’s out some days and other days it’s not! weird

What I miss: Feeling cute in my clothes! Sleeping on my stomach, running, and having energyJ

What I’m looking forward to: Finishing my classes (2 more weeks!), hopefully passing my real estate exam, finishing baby Sev’s room, my sister and mom coming out, and baby Sev's arrival of course!

I wish I had some exciting updates this week. I have been a really boring person lately! Lol. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that my focus is on finishing up my classes in time for baby and not doing a whole lot else. This weekend Brandon and I are going to focus on finishing up the babies room and do some late spring cleaning! Hope you all are doing well. Here are a few projects I squeezed in last week for baby Sev’s room!

His first toys! :) I found the little crate at JoAnns and made the M with some cute paper. I'm sure he'll love digging in here next summer :)

I made the pillow a few days ago and I'm in the process of covering the rocking chair pillows with grays to match the room :) I wish I was a better sewer but it works! :) Brandon fixed up an old side table we had to...I love it :)

34 weeks! or 8.5 months!

Hey family and friends! I am proud of myself that I am actually updating my blog on time this week. This week has been really good for me! I started my real estate classes on Wednesday and found a way to finish in 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks! I was getting nervous because originally my last class would end on my due date which is not good! Doing the class in 4 weeks will give me enough time to hopefully pass the class and state exam and be done in time for baby Sev. Cross your fingers for me!

Brandon and I went to our 34 week appointment yesterday and everything was measuring well. My blood pressure keeps getting better and better and little man is head down and ready for action in the next month! It was funny too because two weeks ago his heartbeat was at 140bpm and this week it was 120bpm. The doctor goes "oh yeah it's a boy for sure" haha. That confirmation felt good especially since it's boy central over here!

Today Brandon and I went on a lunch date to Chilis and to see the movie "what to expect when expecting". It was kind of embarrassing walking into the theater 8.5 months pregnant (It's a movie joking about pregnancy) but after looking around I realized I was 1 of about 10 preggo chicks in there. The movie was hilarious by the way and I highly recommend seeing it!

I'm feeling pretty enormous and hot these days. I think about 3 times a day I say to myself "I wish I was in Michigan right now." I don't think anyone can truly understand what 110 feels like until you are in it! Bring pregnant and dealing with it is not fun and I'm nervous to see what our electric bill is this month...eek! I just keep reminding myself that it's ok to chill out once in awhile even though it's kinda tough for me! I hope you all have a great week and don't forget to keep in touch I miss you all! Here are just a couple of pics from this week:

Both boys stuck their tongue out at me...I am going to be very out numbered soon!
My project this week....added some balls to the lamp!:)

Holy Belly!

34 weeks pregnant

Watch what you say! Your curious baby is listening in to your conversations at 34 weeks -- and might enjoy a lullaby or two -- so go ahead and sing to him. Some say that baby will recognize songs mom sings while he’s in the womb, and may even be more easily soothed by them if he’s used to them once he’s on the “outside.” At week 34, you might breathe a little easier, since baby may descend lower into your pelvis and give your lungs some space. (Ahh!) Of course, some babies don’t do this until the day they’re born, so we’re not making any guarantees. The pitfall of this descent, of course, is even more pressure on your bladder, so be prepared to make even more trips to the ladies room over the coming weeks.
Your baby's the size of a butternut squash!
At less than two months to go, he weighs in at about 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches.
Share this with family and friends

your baby at 34 weeks
  • He's recognizing and reacting to simple songs, if you're singing them. (If you're not, start! He may find them soothing after birth.)
  • He's also urinating about a pint a day.

33 weeks!

Hey family and friends! I hope you are enjoying the start of June. I have been off of work for a week now and I've gotten so much accomplished. I cleaned out the babies room finally, sewed some fun pillows for the house, threw my friend a fun bridal shower at my house, and cleaned tons and tons! I've also had some fun swimming in the pool and enjoying this time off. Brandon has also been doing some fun projects around the house...we both like to keep busy working on things around here!

Last night I had a really strange pregnancy symptom. I was lying in bed with really bad heartburn and I felt the baby moving a TON. It felt like he was digging into my pelvis and everytime he moved I felt a really sharp pain in my lower abdomen. It got so painful that I ended up looking up the number to the maternity ward triage in case Brandon and I had to make a run there to see what was happening. It was so painful! After researching a little online, it sounds like it may have been a mixture of Braxton Hicks contractions along with the baby hitting a nerve in my lower pelvic region. Apparently it can be VERY painful and mistaken for labor. I'm glad I know what the pain feels like in case this happens again! Yikes!

Another weird pregnancy symptom I've had the last month is an obsession for ice cubes! Brandon was getting freaked out because everytime I get a glass of water or juice I fill it up completely with crushed ice then add a little liquid to it. I think about ice all the time! Brandon jokingly googled "ice cravings during pregnancy" and the word Pica came up. Pica is the need to eat things that aren't food substances like ice, mud, clay, soap, ...ew! Alot of women who experience pica have really low iron. Strangely enough I did have a really low iron count and I'm taking a supplement each day. I really hope that I can stop this craving because I haven't been able to stop eating ice...eek! If I start eating mud I think it's time for an intervention....lol.

I think I've mentioned this before but this summer I am going to take a 6 week course to get my real estate licenese. Brandon and I both talked and although this isn't going to be something I can do right away, I'm hoping after teaching for another year and doing real estate on the side I can build up a small little business so that someday I can do it full time. Wish me luck I'm nervous! Hope all is well with everyone and I can't wait to see some of you this summer once baby comes :)

Here are a few photos from the week....Baby room sneak peak (after a run to ikea with a friend!) and Bran's projects too.

New ikea light...only $30.00 and so cute!

The white organizer in the background is from ikea. Brandon used an old dresser board for the bottom of each tray!

I love this so much and so cheap to make! :)

I made Rocco take a swim lesson after he fell in the pool playing with grandma Marshall!

Stocked with baby items :)

It's getting there! I need to find some wall art and get his bookshelf done :)

I'm enormous...but embracing it :)

I had so much fun throwing Mel a party! :)

Bran added stone on the grill :)

party time! Can you spot the one baby item in the room? Thanks aunt Vicki! Baby sev is excited to bounce in there! His swing will be going up this weekend! :)

Baby Sev is already 4 or more pounds now....can you believe it? Can't wait to meet the little man!!!

32 weeks!

Hey family and friends! I can't believe it but it's finally summer break and I am so excited to start preparing for this little baby! The majority of my friends and family are vacationing over the break but I am completely happy just staying home and finally getting some things accomplished. The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy which is why I haven't posted in awhile. My mom came out last week and it was nice to take her to some of her favorite spots! We went to dinner at a place called Hurricane Grill and my mom loves the music and outdoor spring heat. It was a fun time. Here are some pics from that night...bran was the photographer apparently this time around!

Danielle and Zack

Mother and I
The girl in the top picture(Danielle), my mom, and my friend Susan set up a little shower in Arizona for me with my close teaching friends! It was so nice being able to celebrate baby Sev with all these ladies! I feel like I spend most of my life at work so spending time with work friends and having their support means so much to me! Here are a couple pics from the shower! It was also so nice having my close friend Vicki here from Boston!! So happy she flew out for the festivities :) So happy my mom flew out too...I'm a lucky girl!
Teacher's everywhere!

Admiring the present Vicki got baby Sev!

I had a doctor appointment on Friday and everything is going smoothly with the pregnancy. I was measuring a little small this time around but my blood pressure and everything is great! I can't believe how much weight I've gained with this pregnancy! Sometimes I look in the mirror and laugh at my new body.....it's completely different now than it was before! I wonder if things will go back to normal after baby or not?

Yesterday and today were my first days off work and I was actually a little productive. I washed all the babies newborn and 0-3 month clothes and organized his room a little bit. Brandon laughs at me because some nights I just sit in there and play :) There's something so peaceful about being in his little nursery! Brandon also helped me put up the window sham and curtains today which made me so excited. I feel like things are finally coming together. I also started sewing again today for the first time in forever. I'll post some pictures of my little projects later this week. Here is a picture of the nursery for those of you who haven't seen the stripes Bran painted or the colors! I'd say it's about 50% done now..still lots more work to do!
Cutest laundry I've ever done

Little Man's room
As a finale to the blog tonight I will leave you a funny picture of Rocco (He looks asian!) and a funny but sad picture of me. Walking into the video store today the guy at the register says to me "You're still pregnant? Isn't it summer? seems like you've been pregnant forever" I just glared at him and said "yeah I know" lol....I guess this is the final stretch and I should appreciate my large thighs, belly, his feet in my ribs, but I am getting pretty excited for this little guys arrival. Have a great week everyone!
"I am Siamese if you please"
Holy cow I'm going to be huge in 8 weeks!
